Things are happening in my world, which I will post about when it’s all fully implemented. I’ve been going through and trying to finish off doing stuff in the meantime, and doing lots of other random things.
I recently got a skip and got rid of almost all the backlog of crap from the bathroom renovation and various other tidying jobs in the garden. 4 metres squared, filled to the brim! It’s also been raining -first decent winter rain in about 20 years, so the garden is about to go off in spring. I hope. So garden is sorted, first time in ages.
I bought a new bass from a friend. I recently sold a bass I disliked playing, so when this opportunity came up I went OOOOH. Lovely black epiphone. The problem with the one I sold was the body was so wide it squished my boobs and was really uncomfortable. This has boob-cutout by kind of default. I’ve been really not working on playing for ages, for various reasons. Mostly because the ‘learning new things’ part of my brain has been taken up by coding and so I have not found learning songs relaxing AT ALL, it’s just more of the same.
I finally got the embroidery blackwork sampler I had done 11 years ago and did something with it…turned it into a cushion. We didn’t need new cushions, but eh. I used some fabric left over from a dress I made in Feb.
I went to a workshop on using ‘React’. One of the publicly shared photos is this one, you can see the point where I’m frustrated and making ‘anger hands’ at the screen!
I have embroidered a tiny Marilyn Manson in his Dope Show outfit, and three out of four of ABBA. This was at the point I realised I seriously needed new glasses -bifocals. So I’ve stopped doing really small work as I just can’t see any more to do it until they turn up.
Playing around with using monochrome ink for painting.
It’s been a month of out and about. I’ve been using the fact that a good friend of mine works from home and going to his place to do my study as it gets me out of the house and forces me to pay attention, not wander off. Unfortunately this has sometimes meant being stuck at Dandenong Station on a cold morning while waiting for the Cranny shuttle train, and that place is GRIM. I even did a google maps review of it where I likened it to Purgetory.
I do a lot of Google place reviews, most of them very random. I also post a lot of pictures up on Google of parks I’ve been to, to share what the places actually look like. Some of my photos have had 100,000 views. That always feels weird.
And finally I got hold of a bunch of Monster High Male dolls. Rare as hens teeth. The reason I never did any male characters was the cost, but someone was selling this lot for about what I’d pay for a lady doll. So now I am considering what to do next there!
