Every day is exactly the same

One of my friends pointed out that in a hard lockdown, “every hobby feels like a chore”. So yeah, that’s why I’ve been not posting much lately. I’m trying to learn wordpress development from scratch but honestly not spending much time on it : I have some problems to solve and my ‘can’t be assed’ scale is really set to high at the moment.

So lockdown has been relaxed a week ago to be able to hang out with people in parks (socially distanced, masks, only two households), and we can now go 25km from home, not just five. It’s been boring and tedious because we have not really been able to go anywhere or see anyone. Um. We bought fairy lights and put them in the back room to hang out with, that’s been fun. Saturday nights are a thrill now there are MULTICOLOURED LIGHTS involved.

I did some more drawings and once they were done, kind of thought some of them didn’t really work as I’d messed up the proportions. Giant heads. Small hands. Oh well.

I painted some canvas shoes as hand around the house shoes. They are useful for that hobby I now have that I like to call “going to check the mailbox three times a day”. Don’t judge me. It’s all I’ve got.

I did some more monster antique half dolls with polymer clay. I also bought MORE half dolls so when I’m in the mood I’ll get going on them.

The garden is trying to take over the house. My cats are shedding. I thought I was buying 3 500 piece jigsaws but actually I bought 3 100 piece jigsaws, fml.

I’ve done a heap of embroidery. the top layer is famous musicians – turns out to be harder to find recognisable/unique bands/artists who I like enough to embroider than I thought, and fairly easy to find tv shows. There will be many tv shows coming. I’ve finished as many Farscape characters as I could be bothered doing and about to start on more TV shows. I will also be doing robots, puppets, movies, historical figures. I am going to run out of things I like embroidering. I might just have to do ALL OF STAR TREK but my goodness how boring are all those uniforms?

So yeah. I’ve not updated because I was waiting till I did my site maintenance but frankly it’s taking forever to work out the tooling – I have some ‘special needs’ based on a few past mistakes. I will be blowing away the entire site other than the links and I don’t want to fk up my blog so I’m being cautious. For the 1-5 people who visit my posts a day, gee don’t want to mess THEM up.

I may publish some more on my existential angst at some point but it’s really just more of the same ‘whine whine 2020 sucks everything in hell’ that every one else is so…shrug I guess.
