I was over my dress sewing binge but still felt like doing hand sewing stuff so I got out my hat patterns.
I’d made one hat from this pattern, at least 10 years ago, with offcuts from a green dress I made. It is a nice hat, I wear it quite often in winter as it covers the ears.
All my hats (and most things I sew) are always a bit wonky all the time. I do line them, add buckram and interfacing, but I hand-sew and I don’t mind stitching showing, etc. I am never going to be neat and tidy. If anyone cares that’s their problem!
Anyway I thought I’d make another hat from this. I had a leftover bit of wool/polyester blend suiting that I’d tried to make a suit out of and failed to fit and so I aborted it. I still had some of the fabric and decided to tackle view D.
I also had this pattern which I’d never used so I decided to give it a go. No idea why I have two different head size patterns. I’m not even sure what size my head even is.
That’s it for the 30s style hats. But I have far more hats to post here, I will go by decade. Next up will be the 40s!
