Another in my series of ‘Great thinkers and modern distractions’, here is Marie Curie totally shredding to Guitar Hero. Painted in Egg tempera, my third painting in that.
I suspect she’s into Iron Maiden. She’d like Heavy Metal.
You can see where the panel prep cracked a bit on the right to her head. It’s nice and safe and won’t flake off – and you don’t see it in person – but the flash picks up every imperfection in the panels. Joy.
Egg tempera takes a lot of work to look good. See how she sat for about 3 months while I procrastinated on her:
